The development of heavy crude oil in our region- and the fast-rising value of fossil fuels- is putting millionso f dollas into the Saskatchewan economy and helping the Battlefords grow. This “oil patch” activity also spurred the construction and attraction of oil and gas service and supply businesses to our area. However, there is an under-representation of oil and gas service and supply businesses in this area when compared to other oil and gas regions. This creates opportunity for entrepreneurs to relocate or expand.

The Battlefords have partnered with other communities in west central Saskatchewan to promote a healthy oil and gas sector in the region. For more information click here.

The Battlefords region also produces almost a third of Saskatchewan’s canola seed. In addition to these strengths, our agriculture industry is evolving to meet the changing demands of the marketplace.
