The Prairie North Health Region provides a full spectrum of health services in the Battlefords including three long and short-term primary health care facilities and a variety of specialists to serve our residents.

The Battlefords Union Hospital is a 200-bed, fully modern hospital which also includes a 4-bed intensive care unit and day patient clinic.

The Battlefords Union Hospital Foundation is a public foundation dedicated to the enhancement of patient care by acting as the fundraising agency for Battlefords Union Hospital. The BUH foundation supports funding for the purchase of capital equipment and staff education, thus enhancing patient care services at Battlefords Union Hospital.

In addition to the hospital, there are four clinics employing 20 general practitioners and four practicing specialists.

Senior Citizens Homes
There are three senior citizens homes in the Battlefords. The Department of Social Services funds a non-profit corporation to provide home services and support for residents requiring assistance to maintain independent living.

Mental Health
Two facilities that provide mental health care are the Saskatchewan Hospital and The Battlefords Mental Health Centre. The provincial government has committed $59 million dollars to a new Saskatchewan Hospital development, providing a top-of-the-line facility to make the Battlefords a central resource for mental health in the province.

Other medical services available in the Battlefords area include ambulances, a natural health clinic, dentistry, optometry, counseling, physical therapy, massage therapy and chiropractic.
