Our Location

The Battlefords are in an awe-inspiring locale where fertile farmlands and the rolling hills of the aspen parklands meet the beauty of Saskatchewan’s 100,000 lakes and vast forests.

Beautifully situated atop either side of scenic the North Saskatchewan River Valley and on the Trans Canada Yellowhead Highway, the Battlefords serves as the hub for 5 major highways: 16, 4, 26, 29, & 40.

The Battlefords is located 240 miles/ 386 Kilometers from both Edmonton, Alberta and Regina, Saskatchewan. The 85 mile/ 139 kilometer drive to Saskatoon takes slightly more than one hour on the twinned Yellowhead Inter-Provincial Highway.

The Battlefords is only about a half hour drive south on highway #4 from the Jackfish Lake country. Two beautiful lakes are surrounded by several summer hot spots including the Battlefords Provincial Park, the Village of Meota, the Village of Aquadeo and the Resort Village of Cochin.

Soil Conditions

The Battlefords has black soil, which is associated with higher moisture levels than other soil types. The s oil texture varies, with the main forms being sandy loam, clay loam, and glacial till. There are areas where stoniness, topography, and sandiness have resulted in community pasture development and prompted individuals to expand various types of livestock. Livestock varies from cows and sheep to the more exotic, like bison, deer, and elk.
